Parientes y amigos,
Esta semana pasó bien, con mucho frío! Especialmente en nuestra casa 😦 Pero, estamos trabajando con muchos investigadores, y esperamos muchos conversiones. La misión es maravillosa, eso les puedo prometer.

Well, it really was a fast week. We were in and out of lesssons all week, found some cool new investigators, and have figured out who is really ready to covenant with God to follow his commandments for the rest of their lives. It really is a big step, and therefore the people who desire to make this promise with God need to prepare carefully and completly before they can do it. Sometimes, the people we work with just aren`t ready to do that yet. Sometimes, it just takes more time. And that`s okay. As long as they have a clear view of where they want to go and how to get there, they`ll get there eventually if they work diligently for their goal.
But sometimes, we lose sight of what we want. Sometimes, we lose sight of our baptismal date, or our temple marriage, or our personal progress medallion, or our Eagle Scout, etc. Sometiems, we forget that we are here for such a divine purpose. It is sad to see so many people here forget about the very special end goal we have – to return to live with our Heavenly Father.
The distractions of this world make it easy to forget. They are what make us not want to go to church, read our scriptures, or prayer. They are what make us want to cover our sins, cross the line a little, or just be a tiny bit disobedient. And when we do it the first time, it is so easy to do it again.
This week I came across a scripture that helped me realize how I can avoid these distractions.
“And I would that ye shall remember also, that this is the name that I said I should give unto you that never should be blotted out, except it be through transgression; therefore, take heed that ye do not transgress, that the name be not blotted out of your hearts.
12 I say unto you, I would that ye should remember to retain the name written always in your hearts that ye are not found on the left hand of God, but that ye hear and know the voice by which ye shall be called, and also, the name by which he shall call you.”
That name is Christ. If we have Christ written in our hearts, I know that we will be able to withstand the tentacions of the world. I know that we will be able to overcome every little distraction and recieve the foregiveness of our sins instead of having Christ`s name erased from our hearts.
I know that making Christ the focus of our lives is the best thing we can ever do. I have been trying to do it my whole life, but especially for these last 17 months. I can testify to you that following Christ has brought me more joy than any sin has ever brought me. I can testify to you that He gives me peace, hope, and joy. I testify that He is the way and the light. I know that if we want to live with God again, it is only through Christ that we can do it.
I leave you my testimony in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
