Week 19 – Jul 6

Hello Family and Friends!!

This week I did not get transfered, thank goodness! However, they are changing the areas here in Itaugua, so it´s possible that we will not be working in the same area. I won´t lie, I did cry  a little when I heard that. Although I will see the same people at church, it won´t be the same as visiting them all day and working with them to grow their faith in Christ 😦

However, I am so happy that I will be here in Itaugua for 3 more months, since I am training a brand new missionary! She is from Missiouri, and she is super cool! I think we will have a lot of fun here in Itaugua, no matter where we work!

Right now we have a lot of potential investigators and 2 progressing investigators, so we are working with those people to prepare them for the Elders if we really do switch our areas this week. It will be interesting to get to know our new area this week!

One cool experience we had: We waited a long time for a bus we need to come. We contacted one or two people, but then just waited. Well, my companion finally turned to me and said ¨Well, if the bus isn´t coming, it´s because the Lord needs us to do something here. So, we contacted this nice girl who walked by. I kid you not, right when we were wrapping up the contact and had invited her to church, our bus came by! Really, the Lord just wanted us to work for a bit 🙂

Now this week I have really realized how important it is to open our mouths to everyone. Not everyone will accept our message, but we need to find those who will, the people who will really accept the gospel of Jesus Christ, make sacred covenants with God, and through the grace of God, be able to live with Him again someday. In 2 Nefi it says:

6 ¨Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth
7 Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered
8 Wherfore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grae ot he Holy Messiah, who laythe down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise.¨

I absolutly love this.I testify that this is the most important message in the world – that Christ loves us, that He died for us, and it is only through his grace and mercy that we will really live with him again and be forgiven of our sins. All we need is a broken heart and a contrite spirit. As it is says, how great the importance to make these things know!

Hope you all had a safe and happy 4 of July! My companion may or may not have sung the national anthem quietly in the middle of the street…we´ll leave that up to you to decide for yourselves 🙂

Con amor,
Hermana Miclyn Noorda
