Dear familia y amigos,
I hope you are all enjoying the fall weather wherever you are, because here it`s been a crazy week! It started off killer hot, and ended cold and rainy. Every time I put away my warm clothes and my foot heater, I just end up pulling it back out again. I even dug up my gloves again yesterday!
But other than the crazy weather, it was a great week! We worked SUPER hard. We never had a spare moment. The Lord blessed us with a lot of lessons, and we met a lot of cool people. Just to highlight a couple;
We met a man named Estaban, who studied with other religions before, but got too busy and then stopped going. He already started reading the book of Mormon, and said we can come back and meet his family.
Then, there is Carlos, who said he feels really good when he reads the Book of Mormon, which we left with him a few weeks ago when we went to teach his brother and he happened to be over at that time.We are hoping to set a baptismal date with him soon.
There are a ton of other people, but too many to describe!
Other than that, we have 2 progressing investigators who are 12 and 10, and are super excited every time we come over. There is also another man who we are teaching who works on Sundays, but he says that this week he is going to pray about a date for his baptism, and then try to find new work. He is a really great guy, so we are hoping that he will get his answer.
All in all, this week has been the week of Plan of Salvation. We taught it a few times, and then I was reading a lot in Alma in the Book of Mormon about this perfect plan that God has for us.
In Alma 11:37 it says:
” And I say unto you again that (Christ) cannot save them in their sins, for I cannot deny his word, and he hath said that no unclean thing can inherit the kindgom of heaven; therefore, how can ye be saved, except you inherit the kindgom of heaven? Therefore, ye cannot be saved in your sins.”
I love this scripture because it reminds me of our goal. Our goal is to go to the kingdom of heaven, or in other words, to live with God. This is the greatest gift God can give us. BUT, there are a few key things we need to do to get there. In order to go the the Kingdom of Heaven we just have to
1) Have faith
3) Be baptized by someone who has the authority of God
4) Recieve the Holy Ghost
5) Endure to the end! (Repent everyday, Keep the commandments, go to the temple, be obedient, etc)
Really it`s quiet simple. But if you happen to have questions, I would direct you to your local missionaries 🙂
Anyways, I testify that this is the Church of God. I testify that we are really out here saving souls. I testify that God will give us all he has if we are just willing to trust him and be obedient to what he has asked us to do. He loves us. He loves YOU. And He is always waiting for you to turn to him so he can make your burdens light.
I love you all. Have a great week, and don`t ever forget how special you are in the sight of God.
