Dear Family and Friends,
This week we had (drum roll please) almost no lessons!
Just kidding, we did have a good amount of lessons, but a lot of them fell through.
Luckily, the Lord helped us out and we had a good turn out of investigators at church. I think it is the most I have had at church ever. The best part was, of them were people we were already working with! It was nice to see our efforts come together with the help of God.
Now, our job is to keep teaching these investigators and help them work toward a specific baptismal date in June! We are hoping to have a high baptizing month, but it all depends on our efforts of this week! Wish us luck!
One great success story is Adriana. She is 9 and the sister of a return missionary, but her parents aren`t members. We recently met her through her brother, and have started teaching her. The best part is, after she came to church, she seemed so much more receptive to our teachings! My companion and I have noticed a pattern…when our investigators keep their commitments, they become more receptive to the Spirit because they are repenting…and it`s maravillous to see!
I know this is the Church of Jesus Christ. I know because I have read the Book of Mormon, and God sent me a witness through his Holy Spirit and told me that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that He has restored everything that was lost through a prophet, a man inspired of God who communicates the teachings of will of God to us, His children. I know, God knows I know it, and I will not deny it!
Funny stories of the week:
I saw another tarantula. I threw food at it until it went away while my comp sprinted down the street in fear.
We celebrated my comp`s birthday. We decided oreos aren`t fattening enough and put dulce de leche (it`s like caramel, but better) on top. Buen provecho!
We went to an all you can eat Chinese Buffet…and yes, we ate all we could eat.
One of the ladies in our lessons this week told us we could talk to her for fifteen minutes, but that she was going to a different church and didn`t want to be baptized again because she was baptized as a baby. 30 minutes later, she said she understood now why babies don`t need to be baptized (I`ll talk about that more later!) had accepted the baptismal invitation, and told us to come back next week 🙂
I lost my agenda, which is a little booklet where we write down our schedule, important names and numbers, and a lot of other important stuff. We searched for about 30 minutes in the dark right before going home, but couldn`t find it. After our second prayer, we decided to keep looking but just go home. Miraculously, right away a contact we had made about 3 weeks ago came over to us and said “Hey, you lost something right…” Well, lo and behold, she had found my agenda on the street, and said that when she saw the pictures of Christ on it, she remember when we had talked to her about Christ, and decided to keep it until she saw us again. It really was a miracle, considering we had walked a long ways in between when I last had my agenda, and when I realized I had lost it!
God really does answer prayers. He really does love each and every one of us 🙂 I invite you all to take time one day to have a long a serious talk with God through a prayer….evaluate your life. I know He will be listening to every word 🙂
